The best way to have a great experience is to schedule an appointment. This guarantees piercer availability and lessens wait time for a calmer experience.
What to expect when you arrive
When you arrive at the studio for your appointment, you’ll enter into our lobby which displays our jewelry selection. We’ll show you what options are available for the piercing you desire. Your piercer may have an anatomical consultation with you.
Once your jewelry is selected, we’ll check your necessary ID and help you get started on your release form. We use a fully digital system to help reduce paper waste. You’ll also be provided with a copy of our aftercare instructions to read over.
While you’re completing your form, your piercer will be in the sterilizer room preparing your jewelry and other brand new equipment for your piercing. We use a state of the art Statim autoclave from Scican to sterilize everything immediately before use and to aseptically transport to the piercing room. The sterilization cycle takes about 8-10 minutes to complete.
Once everything is sterilized and ready, your piercer will take you to one of our private piercing rooms.
In the room, the first and most important step will be to wash our hands to get ready for the piercing. Next we’ll discuss the placement of your piercing and likely draw some marks on your skin with a disposable surgical marker. For some piercings like earlobes and nostrils, we’ll show you the marks to make sure you like the placements. For other piercings, like daiths, the placement is anatomically determined, so we may not have marks to show you. After everyone agrees on placement, your skin will be cleaned and prepped with an antiseptic agent. This is important to avoid infections, and the area must not be touched after this point. We’ll go over aftercare instructions with you at this point while we wait for the antiseptic to do it’s job.
Now we’re ready for the actual piercing! Your piercer will clean their hands with sanitizer and put on sterile gloves. We’ll grab your jewelry and all necessary implements from the sterilizer cassette and perform your piercing. We use a minimal amount of tools for you comfort and to ensure that all implements are brand-new for each person.
Now we’re done! As long as you’re feeling up to it, we’ll show you a mirror so you can admire your shiny new addition. If the adrenaline is making you feel a little woozy, we’ll make sure we give you time to recover. We’ll also make sure you have any last minute questions answered before you leave. After that, we’ll clean up and disinfect all contact surfaces with a hospital level disinfectant so things are ready for the next person.
